Today after breakfast and check out from hotel later proceed to visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela, which is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. After lunch continue your drive to visit Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, This rock cave temple is must for any tourist who visits Sri Lanka. A history, which dates back to the 1st centaury BC and awarded the first prize for the best photograph at the World Tourism Organization in 1995. After your sightseeing tour continue your drive to Dambulla and check-in to your hotel. Rest of the day free for your own leisure activities.

Today morning after breakfast and check out from hotel later proceed to visit cultural sites in Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura lay deserted for hundreds of years, the ruins buried deep in the jungles of the dry zone of Sri Lanka. The visitor might imagine that an explorer had stumbled on the lost city and brought it to light. But Anuradhapura, city of 113 kings was never forgotten to the people of Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura is the birthplace of Sinhala civilization & one of the world’s largest archeological sites. It is considered as the greatest monastic city of the ancient world, & was founded in the 5th century BC. The artwork and architecture of Anuradhapura are too numerous to mention; among them are ancient Buddha statues showing the influence of Greek art and also some of he world’s largest stupas. After your sightseeing drive back to your hotel. Rest of the day free for your own leisure activities.

Today morning after breakfast and check out from hotel leave for Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa was the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to the 13th century AD. This ancient city is today one of the most beautiful centres of this island’s cultural heritage. In its prime, the city, inside it’s 3½ miles strong encircling walls, housed hundreds of thousands of people. The remains of this ancient city comprised of many buildings and irrigation works. The buildings, mainly brick structures, included the inner city area (with two palace complexes of two different kings), inner & outer city walls, a number of monastic complexes with stupas, image houses & dwelling cells of monks. Also contained were refectories, assembly halls (chapter house, bathing pond etc). After your sightseeing later continue your driver Sigiriya.

After breakfast and check out from hotel later proceed to visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress. This rock of the 5th century AD was a monastery before King Kasyapa built his kingdom. Better known, as the “Lion Rock” is a Citadel rising up to 560ft from the surrounding area. The popular frescoes of the maidens of heaven are found in the caves of this rock. After sightseeing proceed for Kandy, which is the last and most popular kingdom in the history of Sri Lanka. The British army captured Kandy in 1815 and ruled for almost 133 years before the independence of Sri Lanka in 1948. En-route visit a spice garden and the Kandy temple. Rest of the day free for your own leisure activities.

Today morning after breakfast and check out from hotel later proceed to board the train for Nuwara Eliya. Nestled even deeper into tea plantation country, Nuwara Eliya sits at an elevation of 1800 metres, making it one of the coolest regions in Sri Lanka. The cool clime made it a favourite with the English and the Scots during the colonial-era, and remnants of this past can be seen in the sculpted gardens and manor homes that still decorate the city. You’ll have free time here on arrival, Upon arrival at Nuwara Eliya drive to your hotel for check-in to your hotel and breath in the mountain air.

Today morning after breakfast and check out from hotel later proceed for Kataragama. Upon reaching check-in to your hotel and refresh yourself to enjoy your Yala National Park safari. This is the most popular national park in Sri Lanka. Established in 1938 with a land area of approx 978.8 km². This park is situated in the Hambantota and Monaragala district. It is home for almost all the animals and birds that are found in Sri Lanka. After enjoy your wildlife safari drive back to your hotel for your own leisure activities.

After breakfast and check out from hotel later proceed for Bentota. En-route visit the Galle, which is the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It’s known for Galle Fort, the fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Stone sea walls, expanded by the Dutch, encircle car-free streets with architecture reflecting Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. Notable buildings include the 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the fort’s southeast tip.

 

After your sightseeing continue your drive to Bentota and check-in to your hotel/resort to enjoy the amazing views of beaches. Rest of the day free for your own leisure activities.
